OUPIN Oil Seal

2025-02-21

Oil seal is the customary name of the general seals, simply put is the lubricant seal. It is used to seal the grease (oil is the most common liquid substance in the transmission system, but also refers to the general meaning of the liquid substance) of the mechanical components, it will be required to lubricate the transmission components of the parts and components of the power to isolate the lubricant leakage. The static and dynamic seals (generally reciprocating motion) are called oil seals.

The representative form of oil seal is TC oil seal, which is a kind of rubber completely covered with self-tightening spring double-lip oil seal, generally speaking oil seal often refers to this kind of TC skeleton oil seal.

Commonly used materials for oil seals are: Nitrile Rubber, Fluorine Rubber, Silicone Rubber, Acrylate Rubber, Polyurethane, Polytetrafluoroethylene and so on.

Nitrile Rubber (NBR)

It has good heat resistance, wear resistance, resistance to a variety of lubricants, grease, oil and gas mixtures, etc., applicable temperature -30 ~ 120 degrees Celsius, but can not be used in phosphate ester hydraulic oil and gear oil containing extreme pressure additives, in gasoline and low aniline point of mineral oil, the performance of stable.

Fluorine rubber

Ageing resistance, heat resistance, oil resistance, almost applicable to all lubricants, fuel oils, gasoline, in the oil containing extreme pressure additives is not easy to harden, but cold resistance, high temperature abrasion resistance is poor, permanent compression deformation is greater, applicable to the temperature -20 ~ 250 degrees Celsius.

Polyacrylate rubber (ACM)

Superior oil and heat resistance, abrasion resistance, ozone resistance, ultraviolet radiation resistance, especially resistant to lubricants containing extreme pressure fluids, gear oils, motor oils, motor oils, oils, petroleum-based hydraulic oils, etc., and is suitable for work in the range of -30~150 degrees Celsius.

Silicone rubber

With outstanding resistance to high and low temperatures, can be used for a long time at 150 degrees Celsius without performance changes, can be used continuously at 200 under 10000h, in the operating temperature range of -70~260 can maintain its unique use of elasticity and resistance to ozone, weathering and other advantages.oil seal 1

Polytetrafluoroethylene

It has outstanding chemical stability, thermal stability, friction reduction and self-lubrication, and its cracking temperature is above 400. Therefore, it can work normally in the temperature range of -200~300 degree Celsius. In addition to free fluorine and alkali metals, it has excellent corrosion resistance to chemicals, solvents, hydroxides and acids.

Nitrile rubber and fluorine rubber materials are more widely used Oil Seals, the former is low cost, but the temperature resistance and sealing has improved significantly, but the cost is higher, and still has some bad commonality of ordinary rubber materials, such as poor abrasion resistance, short service life, particularly sensitive to the eccentricity of the shaft reaction, etc., leakage phenomenon is still relatively common. ptfe oil seals are a product with high technical content, and it is the direction of the development of futureoil seals. PTFE oil seal is a product with high technical content and is the direction of future oil seal development.

When choosing the material of oil seal, the compatibility of the material to the working medium, the adaptability to the working temperature range and the following ability of the lip to the rotating shaft when it is rotating at high speed must be considered. Generally, the temperature of the lip of the oil seal is higher than the temperature of the working medium by 20~50℃, which should be paid attention to when selecting the material of the oil seal. The working range of the oil seal is related to the material used for the oil seal: -40~120℃ when the material is nitrile rubber (NBR), -30~180℃ when it is made of Alec rubber (ACM), and -25~300℃ when it is made of fluorine rubber (FPM).
